List of 2010 Events (PDF)General Membership MeetingsGeneral Membership Meetings are held monthly throughout the year. Meetings are generally held the Second Sunday of very month, although exceptions are made for Mother's Day and certain Statutory Holidays. Check the current list of events at the top of this page for specific dates. Meetings are held downstairs at the Falcon Hotel in Garson and begin at 10:00 AM. Prospective members and guests are welcome! The Freedom RallyThis is our flagship event. It has been held every year since 1994 and provides a weekend of camping, riding, camaraderie and fun for motorcyclists from across Canada and the United States. Proceeds from the Rally are donated to children's charities. In recent years, the Children's Burn Scar Garment Fund has been the recipient. More Information Club RidesThe Club gets out for many rides during the season. These can include evening rides, day rides and weekend runs. There is no formal schedule at this time, but notifications are sent to members via Email informing them of upcoming rides. Monthly SuppersThe club gathers monthly, usually about half way between membership meetings, for a supper get together. The venue changes from month to month and is decided at the preceding membership meeting. Charity RidesThe club supports various charitable rides in support of worthwhile causes, including: The Ride for Dad (Sudbury) - Blue Knights Ch. X Camp Quality Ride Ride for Dialysis (Dorset) Sudbury Toy Run Safety DisplaysThe Freedom Riders have traditionally put on a motorcycle display in the New Sudbury Centre during a weekend in mid-May to promote motorcycle awareness and safety. The display is quite elaborate with a motorcycle on our large display turntable and members handing out safety brochures and interacting with the public. Club PartiesThe club members hold parties to celebrate Halloween and Christmas. Because of all the activities and stress prior to Christmas, the Kris Kringle is held in later January because we believe that, after the holiday rush is over, people just want to kick back and have fun. We also host the traditional Club Bash in the summer. This is usually held soon after the Freedom Rally and is restricted to Freedom Riders and their immediate families. Other RalliesThe Freedom Riders participate in and support other motorcycle rallies, both club events and major gatherings. The main club rallies we currently attend are: Pennsylvania Freedom Riders Rally In addition, some members regularly attend Americade in lake George, NY and have been known to travel to Sturgis, Laconia, Daytona, etc. |
